wiring problem...?
I am putting a falt screen tv on the wall. I have chased in the wall a trench for the electric wire - can i put the coaxial aerial wire in the same trench or will it cause interference...?
DIY room is a slow so i have posted on here too

Not sure on the coax. I have power, scart and hdmi running the same route down the wall with no interference so can't imagine a standard aerial being any different.
If i were you i would run an hdmi cable too even if it won't be used at the moment.
Always handy to have it there just in case you fit Sky Hd or similar in the future.

The whole point of coax is that it should resist interference. The screening on the coax should protect the signal. It would have to be a very strong interfering signal to affect the picture. It is important that the screening has a good earth contact.

If the wire is permanently behind plaster, then use a good quality cable; RG6, PF100, CT100, WF100 or otherwise known as satelite/CATV/digital cable. I tend to use RG6 or CB10R for everything as it seems to be more of a consistent quality, as I found various brand of CT100/CF100 vary wildly with the level/quality of sheilding.
Basically, as long as its got a nice thick foil liner and a generous amount of copper braid as sheilding i'llt be more than up to the job. This will be most beneficial if you live in a weak signal area where you want to minimise losses via the cabling.
One step up will be CT125 or WF125 or CO125R (RG7) which is good for long distances, but that will be overkill is most circumstances. And you'lll struggle getting connectors on the end so will need to teminate it in a wall plate (wall plates introduce signal loss)
Don't kink it either.

I think the speaker is broken. Constant clicking noise from the speaker. Sounds like the aerial is not in right, but it still makes the sound if if the DVD is playing and there is no aerial attached.
I think there is an earth off on the speaker

If spade connectors and screwed to hold in place then i would run/rub some fine emery of the connectors/posts, etc to get a good contact.
Best to change the wires anyhow.
