Default Where can I donate a large fish tank and fish?

I am about to move to London for new employment and that means relocating. I have a large fish tank (Jewel I think) and about a dozen or so small fish (Swordtails, tetra) and I don't really fancy taking it with me.

I would like to either sell or at a push donate it to someone more able to look after the fish than I am, so wondered if anyone on here knew of anyone who might want to take it off my hands?

Ideally, some time in May would probably be best although I could hang on to it until sometime in the summer (or even the autumn) depending on how long it takes to sell my house.

Here's a pic. It looks a little different now (ie we have live plants rather than the plastic ones in the photos)..

That set up is probably worth a couple of hundred quid mate, might be worth joining an enthusiasts forum and seeing if anyone wants to buy it.

Failing that join Freecycle or ask in your local pet shop, I'm sure someone will take it off your hands.

I sold a Juwel through the local paper for £160. Took me a day to clean it properly before sale. Selling fish with it is a problem as it will have to be emptied before transport and fish will not like fresh water before the cycle gets going. Possibly sell to someone who already has a set-up to home fish for a week or so. dl

looks really good Burr, wish I had room for it.

I would have thought it would be easy enough to find someone if you advertise it in the right places.

I had a tank very similar to that a few years ago.
After the last of the fish died I donated mine to the wheely bin in bits after smashing it up in the garage using a hammer and a cloth

Well, thanks for the kind offers and the valuable advice.

As I need to try and fund a Sony PRS-600 ebook reader, then I'm going to attempt to sell it. Unless someone has one they want to swap???

lol
