Default Dog friendly holiday

I am looking to try & see if these types of holidays are available & see if anyone has used them.
I quite fancy taking the dogs with us on a holiday that i can incorporate kids, dogs & adults & some good fun. I would prefer something along the lines of centre parcs style were there is something for everyone. I would probably prefer North of England as location so i am not travelling long with the dogs as well.
Any ideas ? My only no-no is a caravan. Lodges would be preferable.

Cheers

Flamingo Land is good fun for the family. Although dogs are allowed in the park (not the Zoo though) they are not allowed in the lodges. You could get a local cottage that allows pets (Malton, Pickering). It would also be a good tour base for Whitby, Scarborough, etc.

I am not aware of anything like Center Parcs in the North East.

A UK holiday with your dog and family is a great idea, i always take my two dogs with me and loads of self catering cottages are available. I am not sure about centre parks as it isn't my sort of place as i tend to go to North Wales or the Lakes.

Search the Internet and then see if anybody has been to that sort of place.

The only downside with Centre Parks as far as dogs are concerned is that they must be kept on a lead at all times

We've been to the lakes a few times with our numptie mutt, usually near Conistion, and she loves it

We're doing a Narrow Boat tour (Cheshire Ring) with her this year, I'll let you know how that one goes

Also, if your dog likes water, and your kids are of an age where they like learning stuff, the area around Ironbridge Gorge is fantastic

We did the museums around Coalbrookdale, and a day on the Severn Valley Railway

And the dog got loads of time in the Severn trying to catch swans

Not up north but "The New Forest" is spot on for dogs/kids...

Even cater for dogs in some good pubs/resturants....and have dog friendly beaches.

Sorry Trout, but I must be getting hard of reading in my old age. You're going to have to show me where the OP asked for places in the North East

I knew it was borderline Northern, but thought it was worth recommending anyway since it is a great area for hounds

Fair point - he said North of England.

The Severn valley was not in the North of England when I last checked

It's all about perspective, to all those Southerners living in and around London, everything above Watford is 'Up North'

Besides Sti only said North of England was preferrable, not essential
