Some people don't seem to be able to drive normally on the public roads that we all share. It seems to me that some drivers have been lucky not to kill or injure an innocent party sometime during their obviously chequered career as a driver and that a ban and a prison sentence was overdue. This does not, however, seem to prevent them from bleating about being treated unfairly by the system.

I'm with you SSU!... but unfortunately Labour are in power, so the prisons are lovely and warm and comfortable and full of plasma TV's, DVD players and laptops. The prisioners human rights would be breached if it got a bit chilly while they were kicked back with a beer with their feet up

If you got sent down for motoring offences it had to be serious? Your past must of only just caught up with you? as there is no way you get sent down unless you kill someone on a 1st offence and then people still get off?

No, no, no stevebt. You never get sent down for doing a crime! It's always mistaken identity, or someone unfairly bringing up past instances of being a complete tool that ends up with you going to jail! It's never your fault, FFS!

It was serious. You were driving in a manner likely to cause the death of an innocent road user. And you wouldn't have gone to jail if it was the first instance of that behaviour, would you?

4 weeks is lucky, imagine how long you would be in there for if you'd have killed someone
I wouldn't wish prison on anyone either, but it's not supposed to be nice and i'm guessing it's stopped you driving too fast off roundabouts? which is dangerous.
Be thankful it wasn't a charge of 'death by dangerous driving'.

Not a very socialist comment from SSU, what about their human rights? Even though they may have transgressed they still deserve treating like human beings. In fact the Government would say they should come near the top of the care list. Just below Cabinet Ministers and MP's but above old age pensioners who have to pay for their care!

Apart from the obvious danger if you had not caught it, it is also alarming for other people and they should not have to put up with that.
Still maybe you have backed off a bit now.
I agree with what you say about the authorities' attitude towards motorists in general but hanging the back end out like that just gives them more of an excuse.
