Postal service..

Postal service..
We have ordered some stuff off Ebay,Amazon and play..
Some as long ago as the 9th December.
Anyway none of the six parcels we have ordered have turned up..Everyone is saying its the weather etc etc..
Been to our local sorting office and there is nothing there, the guy said it will probably be in the new year if we get anything at all.. So a few people are gonna be missing christmas presents..
The postal service is sh!te at the best of times, but surely they arent unanswerable to ?
You just seemed to get fobbed off and they seem happy with that as a conclusion..
Is there anything that can be done ?
Or is it a matter of going back to the shops next year so you actually have stuff in your hands once you have paid your money ?
I know its harsh, but the whole company seems to be riddled with w@nkers,and thats if you can get to speak to someone human..
Rant over..

Post office is a joke and is getting worse. A few years back was waiting for a set of number plates - simlair time periods as you describbe, got told pretty same. Other than told by an PO employee - Xmas period ss a busy time of year you know ! They did not seem very happy of my reply of Well its an annual thing xmas - you have had plenty of time to get used to it getting busy.
Do seem to employ some very unusual people that just dont seem to care about the whole service they offer.
Unsure how could make it better - other than a complete start again from the top down.

It's easy to blame the post, all the problems I've had lately are suppliers saying they've sent stuff but on further investigation they haven't and use the posties as scapegoats. Even Amazon do it.

I'm waiting some stuff - an item was posted 4th December First Class!! The company concerned have posted another which has arrived.
Stuff from ZAVVI is taking an age ..... still due two items from them.
It's worse this year than at any other Xmas I can remember.

Well - I've just had this delivered from some holding store in south london.
Buy Amana Definition 228FIRS Side by Side Fridge Freezer, Stainless Steel online at JohnLewis.com
If it's possible to deliver that then I can't see why letters / parcels can't have been delivered.
Lazy arsed unionised marxist socialist "Right-On" wnakers.

It wouldnt be so bad if they could tell you where your stuff actually was. That way at least you maybe able to make arrangements to pick the stuff up yourself and waive the fee's that you have paid the RM for there services..
The fact that you have paid them for a service and in return you get blank stares and purile answers makes my p!ss boil..
Its my new years resolution to try and use them as little as possible...

The postie I spoke to, who I know from years back, said that no packets & parcels were being delivered to households from our local office due to the icy conditions. Businesses were unaffected. Bascially the local office is stacked with parcels which are 'unlikely' to be delivered before Christmas. And no, you can't pick them up either.

So....We can only delivery your parcels when the weather is OK..
I can understand stuff being a day or two late, but to just give up and roll over at such an important time for mail delivery is ridiculous..
They should compensate everyone who's parcels are stuck in depots.Even if its just your postal fee.. They obviously cant delivery the service that your paying for.

I have always given postmen a bad press jokingly as I don't know all of the ins and outs, but my suspicions were right over the last couple of months I can confirm a lot of them are a bunch of lazy ****ers!
I sell on Amazon, Ebay and other websites we send lots of post, Royal Mail really need a good clear out of "union boys" and a fresh look at everything.

a lot of your comments regarding "union jobsworth's" i agree with totally guys, and i know this to be a fact as i work with about twenty of them in my local office
"Work to rule" is the key quote from there rep's
lazy postmen TBH are in abundance around the country, however i think this goes hand in hand with the CWU union banging on and on with regards to the work to rule method, and it drives me NUTS...............
in my office, the majority of posties follow the CWU like little lost sheep(one out,all out bull****),however the minority (myself included)would much rather just crack on with the job and get the mail/parcels etc to where there supposed to be......................delivered to the customers door!
this can be a problem though,as the union-ites see us trying to acheive this, and will go out of there way to throw a spanner in the works, which is not only childish, but highly frustrating.and to make matters worse,The HO has removed 4 members of staff(posties)from our D.O and replaced them with 2 managers who basically spend there 40 hour working week arguing the toss with the CWU brigade and there little handbooks
merry xmas guys

We must be quite lucky here then, I ordered stuff off Ebay and Firebox only a few days ago and all have arrived by today. It was a mixture of large parcels and wee padded envelopes.

When I puchased yesterday I paid for "guaranteed delivery by 1pm the next day". Well thats 3.20pm now and still no sign. Had better be here by 1pm tomorrow or I'll be throwing the toys out the pram.

I had some thing arrive from Hong Kong today in 11 days!!!
Yet it takes 7 days for a 1st class letter to travel from the north, to the south, and this was at the end of last month, so no faggoty "wahhh its all the christmas cards" nonsense will wash with me!
They are ****, they have been **** for a long time, and i can not see them getting any better in the short term.

I bought items on the 2nd december from mclaren uk and they told me the order left the warehouse on the 2nd december and i still didnt get it, i rang them up 3 times last week and i was told there is a delay in the postal service. They sent it through standard mail so no tracking number for the price i paid for delivery they could of sent them with a tracking number The woman on the phone i spoke to was trying to make out that i got the items and that i was looking for my money back i was angry when she said that to me looks like my items are either lost or still with royal mail

Everything I've ordered recently has turned up, via Royal Mail.
Only one thing came by courier and the lazy git from Business Post didn't put a card through to say they'd left it next door.
I can understand blaming the weather, if you live in a rural area, but, not in towns and suburbs.
I've not had one delivery that I've not been able to get to because of the snow, different situation for the people out in the sticks though.

Its always the case of too many managers no matter what company you work for.
My company has a manager of a manager of a manager. Most of the workforce always ask themselves, what do 3 managers do when the same problems arise week upon week. Its a safety thing, someone else to blame.
Royal Mail needs stripped back to the core and rebuilt from scratch, its even doing the final sort and deliver of TNT mail. That means TNT make the profit and leave the hard, costly job to RM. Its a total farce, I have sympathy for the company on some levels and sympathy for the workers. Alot are of the workers are just work shy Union poodles though, and are creating this monster. Lose-lose if you ask me.
Oh and City Link finally got my parcel to me today after holdups with the weather. Happy days.

They are also thieving tossers. I ordered something from John Lewis 11th December to be delivered within 5 days. Still wasn't with me by yesterday so called up. When they tried to track it it had disappeared off the Royal Mail parcels tracking system. It had got as far as despatched and then dissapeared into thin air. John Lewis refunded me the money + 50% as it was a Christmas present which wasn't going to turn up. I had to go to Bluewater last night to replace it
Also had a letter turn up in the post recently that was a collectable keyring for my son. The envelope had been torn open at the corner and there was just an empty bag left in the envelope
I'm not saying all posties are thieves in fact i'm not blaming the posties at all but some of the ones in the sorting office/depots who handle it all.
