The Last Starfighter is a classic I've not seen for years. It was terrible and awesome in equal measure. 80's films rock! I love that my phone could handle better 3d graphics than this film could offer

I got all excited, but realised I confused The Last Starfighter with Battle Beyond The Stars... disappointed

****, missed it, i LOVE the last star fighter

Thats the one with the alien, and she shows the chap his family on his futuristic photo frame, that has hundreds of pictures on it ?
While the earthling has some skany poleroid with one picture on it?

I remember seeing that and thinking "woooooaaaghhhh futuristic as f*ck!!"

Madness to think that i am posting this via my mobile phone

'Greetings starfighter, you have been selected by the star league to defend the frontier against Zor and the kodan armada !'

or something like that !

Top movie, especially 'death blossom', the killer app for the 'Gunstar' fighter.

Battle Beyond the Stars. With "Nell" the ship's computer.

Then they used the Baddy spaceship in a "murder/whodunnit in space" - ran out of cash and never completed it. Had to wait for a sequel that never came!!! LOL!!

The last starfighter is great but the bmx tyre around the neck of the space suits let it down a tad!

loved it as a kid though.

Didn't realise until a few days ago, that Michael Kamen, they guy responsible

for the soundtrack on last action hero had passed away..

He also did the soundtrack for Robin Hood prince of thieves as well,

looking back, he did the scores for a lot of the blockbusters that have been

on screen over the last 20 odd years!!

Highlander & Die Hard are others he covered as well ..

...<beep-beep><beep-beep>
"What's that?"

I've lost complete faith in the movie industry lately, so this doesn't excite me. The new StarTrek film was the last straw for me.

I thought it was pure gack! As it was a generic action film with the names of startrek characters in it. Had no merit as a film other than looking rather slick. It was Dawesons Creek meets Lost In Space.

I really wanted to like it too, I probably would have liked it, if it hadn't of been a Star Trek film.

The New Star Trek reboot film did get some getting used to, especially the ***** Wonka engine room

I'm personnally looking forward to both the Starfighter sequel and The new TRON sequel.

Reboot seemed to be the word of 2009 for Hollywood!
