Hi guys,

I am an easy going guy when it comes to business and stuff like that.

At Xmas I phoned Central Subaru and enquired about 2 pot rear brakes, they stated they had a set in, but would only sell with the front 4 pot ones.

I double checked with them on the phone as to whether these were 2 pot rears, I was informed yes.

So I drew up an order (which explicity stated 2 pot rears) and a cheque to cover the amount.

I sent this off and waited..and waited... eventually the box arrived, and I discovered they were single pot calipers.

I contacted Central Subaru by phone (early January) and explained this to them. They said return them for a refund, which I did.

I have called and called and called (about 12 times now) to chase my refund, each time being told "yes we'll send it" or "you need to speak to XXXXX, he deals with the cash". Basically being fobbed off.

So the other week I sent them a recorded letter giving them 7 days to pay up otherwise I'd proceed with legal action.

Guess what ?

Nothing.

So on Monday, I will go to the local Court and initiate legal action against them.

I'm sorry it has to come to this, but I feel other people should know.

J.

Hi J,
Bad luck M8, Ive used Central Subaru several times and never had any problems, the only thing that I`ve noticed is that they are very disorganised.
Hope you manage to get yer dosh without too much hassle,
Cheers

Firefox,

Quite right too. No reason why they can't spend couple of minutes writing and sending a bloody cheque.

Late us know what happens!

Cheers,
Tom

J they obviously don't give a stuff so IMO you are taking the only action they have left you with.

Still leaves you with more running around just to get what's yours.

Hope they read this bbs, might save you a trip to the SCC

Sorry to hear about your hassle - personally, I've had nothing but good dealings with them.

It's a real shame when companies let this happen, clerical errors or whatever.

Have you tried giving Pete Croney (Scoobysport)a shout? He knows the owner quite well.....

Apologies Pete if you didn't want to get involved......

firefox,

I recommend you send a letter of complaint to Subaru UK head office, enclosing a copy of all paper work, letters sent and times and dates of phone calls if poss to reinforce your case.

Dealers get huge fines from manufacturers if they get compaints, I work for a pug garage and I know they do, so I'm sure it will be a similar procedure.

Very annoying, hope you get it sorted!

Thumbs down

Hi Lou,
Good idea, but you aint seen this place. They are a small scruffy backstreet garage, not main agents.
Their only connection with International Motors is that they are just up the road, and sometimes a few parts from IM appear there ( if you know wot I mean, ask no questions) whoops !! was that libellous or wot ?? Cheers SCOOP

I too had a bad experience about December. Car in process of modification. Needed some bits (car off road), sent cheque £200 in excess of what they wanted to cover overnight carriage.

Was then fobbed off and realised I was dealing with tossers. Cancelled cheque -just in time. Bits they said they sent 2 days before never arrived!!!

Falkland Performance sorted me out reliably at half the price.

Ordered a set of cams off them, after double checking they had them for an STi V, 99.

STi 4 cams turned up, which didn't fit, and they still tried to charge me, because "I should've told them the engines were different!!???"

So they REALLY know the differences between the cars.
