SKY HD ~ Confusion Over Box I've Just Had Installed
Just upgraded to Sky+ HD, I'm positive I saw a demo on Sky's website showing that when you upgraded you would get a far superior Sky TV guide and Planner, allowing you to categorise programmes etc
The TV Guide / Planner etc are exactly the same as my old box, apart from having HD Channels category obviously...
Any thoughts ?
Thanks :-)

You've probably got a Samsung box (which is a very good thing!) and they're the last of the boxes to get updated.
My 3rd SkyHD box is a Samsung, the other two were Thomson ones, and when it arrived I had the lovely, fast, easy to use 'old' epg. Within a week though it had been updated.

Thanks for that
I'd seen a lot on EPG but didn't actually know what EPG stood for until now !
Do I need to be connected constantly to a phone line in order to recieve the update ?

You're not missing much. The only good thing about the new menu is that you can view the channel you are on, in the top right hand corner........something that virgin have had for ages! It isn't noticably slower either.
