Big change starts today. change over from right to left hand driving.

Rather than just turning and running away, you now get to hunt round the house for the keys, run to the car, fumble with the keys in panic and drop them at least twice, finally open the car, struggle with the seat belt because your in a bit of rush and tugging it too hard and drive away from your home and have a head on with the neighbour because you forget which side of the road you drive on.

Absolute genius!

the Irish tried it a few years ago

although they did a trial run with just bus's and taxis first

That's not true. What they did was to make sure everyone got used to it each day everyone would drive 6 inches further to the right until they were all the way over.

They have converted to KMs & KPH though that didn't save the english tourist who got confused and done for 105mph...

I did tell it to an AA recovery man the a few years ago, with a totally straight face, he initially said "really" then I could see him trying to figure it out, conversation went quite after that

actually the Swede's did it overnight in 1967 quite successfuly, thats why early Saabs (and some current ones) are RHD ;-)

The local saab dealer has a few on the forecourt with RHD also, so not just early ones.
