Identity - we all have one (or two)
Psychologists will tell you that everyone will do anything to remain consistent with their identity.
Well as you can see it is time for another poll and a request for help.
Having been denied the privilege of two innocent user-ids that caused no harm, and the loss of another legendary user-id I am seeking your help.
Let me know what you think and if option one wins then I will doubtless need help with Stu and the moderation team to action it. For those who have already commented on my other poll I thank you.

Where is the option for banning rannoch/trout/fish face or whatever other alias's there are as it seems to be going on forever and no amount of polls, new threads etc will resolve the issue ;-)

Nat, I'm pretty sure that Stu said, in a thread in Policy, that name changes would be allowed, but not *****-nilly and without good reason. One only had to put in a request to that effect. Whether he'd want to extend that service to combining IDs, transferring post-counts etc I'd be less optimistic.

They could merge Trout/Rannoch/Spooky and then rename to a username of your choice
The best bet would be to merge them all to the highest privelege user id and rename to your fancy
I have asked in the past about merging Sonic' and *sonic* and was told NO

Please bear with me as I am slow on the uptake, as you know.
Rannoch/Trout/Spooky are the same bloke, the one with the square watch and the Porsche, does he post as the same guy or does he post as different people.
For example has he ever used more than on name in the same thread, if you see what I mean.
The reason I ask is that I didnt know they were the same guy, and Im sure Ive answered the same questions to two different names, so he has been taking the p1ss out of me.
Why have three names...?
I am Yoza and nobody else, my wife is Scooby-Babe and nobody else, I dont get it.

please be rest assured that the multiple ids were there over time. Rannoch for about three years; Trout for about four years; hardly used it for a while, Spook Mulder over the past six months or so.
Resurrected Rannoch as the registration system allowed me to recover the email address.
So, I have never to my knowledge used more than one id on the same thread, never mind to take the p***. And I am sorry that you thought that I would.
It is also clear that whilst many see the link, it was less obvious than I thought although there have been several threads in the past six months where I have been asked pretty directly and answered pretty directly.
I hope that clears it up and I will take back the blind and retard comments
