You know what? It was. Not his biggest fan by a long way, but hearing that album in 1982 you knew pop music had jumped forward a notch.

However, it was those videos for Billie Jean and of course Thriller that really moved the whole game on.

I remember staying up to watch the full length video premiere on Channel 4 at midnight and it was all anyone could talk about at school the next day. Magic stuff.
