Yup, it needs to have a double feed coming in the house.
But if you are getting the Sky+ box, you might as well do it thru Sky.
Its multi room and HD you pay extra for not +

beware the pillocks who do the installs for sky. I came home to find the installer had nailed a brown cable over our gutter, down the outside of the (cream) house, drilled a hole in the wall and fed it across on top of a wooden floor in front of the fire place. looked nice, and was obviously very safe with no worry about falling over it!
ended up getting a local aerial bloke to come and sort it for me.
that said, sky+ is terrific - don't know what we did without it!

We got a free box, and reduced price installation.
That said the installer was a contractor..
drilled through the wall and missed the other room, ended up comming out of
the wrong wall
so i had a big hole in the wall
i got him to leave plenty of spare cable - set up the box and got rid..
i then filled the hole in the wall, hid the cables...
And called them back the next day to replace the duff box lol

I fitted the cable myself ran it under the floor from the rear of the house (checked where other peoples dishes were) to a recessed wall mounted aerial socket. Just left loads outside for them to use when they fitted the dish. Make sure you run two cables for sky plus, or a twinned cable.

we are lucky in northern ireland as there is only one contractor who does all the sky installs. did a first class job on my sky HD and Sky+. have to say that i have had no probs with either. with the new epg software on HD i have a few freezes, but no biggy, just switch the box off at the mains for 30 seconds and reboot. have to say i don't think about the money i pay, if i did i would cancel. £67 a month plus £142.50 a year for your license. that's £950 a year just to watch tv

We have had it for a couple of years now with no issues..
What i would say is be there when the installers come..As a rule there decent enough lads but are paid by how many installs they do.So,there is no frills on there work, they will just do the minimum..
When they did mine i worked with them to get the cables hidden as much as possible.

You never drill from a outside wall in. I'd be giving a massive bollocking at work for that. What would of happened if he knocked loads of plaster off on the inside

I had the box supplied and fitted under their offer. It was done well enough but it is worth seeing that the installer does not cut corners. They dont get paid much by Sky for doing it.
I was initially sceptical about HD being worth the cost etc. but now I am very pleased that we had it done. The HD+ box gives a better picture all round and the HD is well worth it now that there are so many hd channels available, the Sport channels are excellent. Worth having a 1080P TV as well for the best picture quality.
