Does anybody know what the "AUX" channel is used for on yer video
#1
As the title says, does anybody know ?? Because when I go to "0" (AUX) on my video I get a high pitched feedback noise.
Basically I go to "0" on my TV then up the channels to listen to TV stations through my "home cinema" processor, but when I get to "AUX" on my video I get a blue screen and loads of high feedback.
I have a new TV (JVC) and have connected something wrong somewhere (cannot find the VCR (AIWA) manual). I think that I used to view my satelite decoder through "AUX"
Your "feedback" will be greatly appreciated !!

Is there anything plugged into the Aux socket on the back ?
Is there more than one input that could use the Aux channel ?
This normally happens when more than one piece of equipment is trying to use the channel at the same time
(I think )

If I could draw what I've done it would be easier but here goes !
Aerial - Video (Aerial cable)
Video - TV (Aerial cable)
Video - Decoder (Scart)
Decoder - TV EXT1 (Scart)
DVD Player - TV EXT2(Scart)
Video - Audio output leads from L/R - Processor (YAMAHA)

Could swap round the scarts in the back of the telly and see if you get the same problem.
btw you should be using an optical or coax from your DVD player to surround amp not L/R phonos - you won't get dolby digital with just a stereo feed.

Father Jack - I thought You were supposed to use L/R phono's. I don't know whether I've got an optical input to the processor ? I'll check.
The reason I've got this problem is that when I turn my VCR off I get sound to all 6 (fronts/rears/centre/sub)speakers from my SKY decoder (without connecting audio leads). When the VCR is on I don't get sound to my rears
