Two books in a day? That was my score one rainy day in France last week: Ed McBain 87th Precinct novels.
Also read the new Reacher in under 24 hours. Back to his old self, but still not his best.

Have read a whole book in a day but it's usually last thing at night (and I soon nod off) so about two weeks.

Enjoy Jack Reacher novels but they do make me snigger - 16/17 stone man that's the hardest bloke in the world and can do 6 minute miles (EXTREMELY fast even for a proper runner) yet was only MP in the past... Fun to read - with a big pinch of salt...

Nope - I remember clearly reading about his six minute miles. Can't remember which book it was in - the one where his "girlfriend" gets murdered horribly (I think) in London.

His "profile" in the novels does suggest that the author is a raging closet homo....

Sometimes a few days, sometimes a few weeks. Depends on the book, what else I'm doing at the time etc.

For the last couple of years, I've read nothing but Warhammer 40K books. Don't have the time to play 40K anymore or paint so only toe I can keep in the 40K world is by reading.

Depends how big the pictures are.

I normally try to make them last a couple of weeks so I can think about the story etc as it unfolds.

Well it definitely stood out in my mind - although not sure which book. He goes for a run around a park (or something), does 5 miles and manages 6 min/miles. I remember because I run a lot and that's silly fast. I could dig it out but not sure when in the house it is!

Oh well - still entertaining. I read an Oz book (in Oz) along similar lines but MUCH more stupid - the guy is the hardest, most attractive to women, most well off, etc, etc bloke in the World and it goes from silly to really really stupid.

I like the training section of "Without Remorse" by Tom Clancy - properly thought out stuff and very entertaining. For a saddo like me that trains a lot...

The girlfriend bit - I might be confusing authors. Highly likely TBH!

Horus Heresy, superb reading. Also enjoyed the Ragnar Blackmane stuff.

I annoying read 3 or 4 books at the same time....... if you see what I mean. leave them around the house - bathroom, bedroom etc. just finished angela's ashes this weekend- seem to have whipped through that very quickly- considering at work, sport/hoe stuff etc.

I'd want paying to read lord of thr rings. jeez the films were freeking bad enough.

I will say I did try with the first one and threw it down. absolute complete dross.

I will admit LOR is an aquired taste (although I last read it 20 off years ago)

Angela's Ashes is pretty hard going -- hardly a barrel of laughs
