Default Where can I get a Piglet from?

I know it might be a long shot on here but does anyone know where I can get a full Piglet (dead) ready for roasting at very short notice (i.e. tomorrow) in the Manchester / Stockport area?

No jokes about spit roasting, its too obvious

No thought didn't cross my mind

Tried a few Butchers and they don't have full piglets. Trying to find a pig farm at the mo.

When I first saw the title I thought it was a joke, wasn't it on the news that 500 piglets have been stolen or something stupid to that effect?

obviously I reilise its a serious thread now : )

Try Holly Tree Farm in Knutsford mate. Carol should either have one or will be able to recommend somewhere I am sure.

Plan ahead in future!!

As said local farm shop is your best bet. A whole pig here ready for spit roasting will set you back around £120+

Kids soon forget, an ex's youngest cousin used to call me bunny murderer after her brother took great delight in telling her what I did for a horse owner (she had a dutch dwarf lop as a pet).

Who was the first 1 she asked for help when that bugger escaped???? Me

Besides, its good for kids to know where food comes from. A fact I will not hide from my kids if I ever have any.

Why? I think its good that children know where there food comes from, some children these days (even adults) have not got a clue what they are eating, Ive had mine breaking chicken necks and plucking the feathers (he doesnt like gutting them because of the smell) Some of the children we have had round for tea are so detached from food its unreal, won't eat 'real' fish fingers, only out of a packet etc

Bring them round here, if they think gutting a chicken smells. Try a full grown bullock with 15 litres of manure in it's gut I'll even pay them with tripe and onions

Good on you, kids need to be taught where food comes from and how its got. I have met kids who thought milk comes in bottles from the shop!
