Default A not so common fault?

As some off you will know i bought a catayluna with head gasket failure. Today i started on engine bought complete gasket kit and sent off heads for pressure testing and skimming,

Came back after going to look at my mates new piglets to sand down block and noticed this,,,




Bloody thing.

So selling engine in bits now

Bloody subarus never seen one do this before have you?

yes that can happen if the engine has been run and the head gasket failure/temp hasnt been noticed (or been noticed and just run)

Thats it was for sale with head gasket falure i put it on back off truck to my unit then drove it in (for about 15 seconds) but dont know what the oink did who i bought it off.

O well crank and that is fine tho so tommorow morning ill get a nice cup off tea and set about stripping the bottom end down.

You can almost certainly get it specialist welded, ground and skimmed, BUT: if you go this route, have the compression ratios checked before rebuilding, it will probably need a thicker gasket

Cheaper than a new engine

If the gasket goes and the car is running over time the gas will erode the where it is leaking........
