It is quite amazing how quickly a tree goes up. We've used branches from dead xmas trees to get a fire going and it does a very good job indeed.

Thats a frightener alright.
My Austrian mother used to let us children into the room to see the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve and it was as pretty as a picture with all the beautiful old fashioned coloured glass decorations and the candles burning-we did not have electric tree lights then.
An enchanting sight, but looks like we were lucky to get away with it!
