Default Good place to get a suit?...

Anyone recommend anywhere to get a decent suit? Can be highstreet or online.

Basically want to get a half decent brand name suit, up to about £250-300

Moss Bros actually seem to stock some pretty decent suits by Cerruti, Pierre Cardin etc - but size selection is a bit limited.

Anyone recommend anywhere?

Bicester can be a bit hit or miss depending on when you go and what each shop has in stock. Rather than worry about a brand name the trick with a suit is to get one that fits well as a cheaper well fitted suit will always look OK. I used to wear Hugo Boss and Jaegar mainly because they fit well and on a good day in bicester you may find one. Marks and Spencers more expensive suits are actualy very good quality but have no brand name Kudos. If you want absolute quality then the Oswold Boatang shop at bicester has top quality but the styles are not everyones cup of tea and they are a little more than £300

Thanks for the pointers

Bicester is a bit of a trek for me, but it's a good point about getting one thats a good fit, so think I will defo go and try and few on rather than just order whats normally my size online.

Wish I'd thought to get something while the January sales were on really!!

Nothing queer about buying suits!!!

If it was "where can I buy some tight leather shorts?", then it might be different!!

Cerruti cloth: thats the cloth label that they fix inside on the opposite side to the label. A Cerruti 1881 suit costs close to £1,000: a Cerruti Basic a little over half.

I got my last one from BaronJon, some great deals and a wide choice in there. Really good quality too, mine was a cheap one for work £200 reduced to £70, but they had a wide range of prices.

Got a nice Cerruti one yesterday - going and getting measured up, and trying a few on was definitely worthwhile - would have ended up ordering the wrong sizes completely if I'd ordered online without trying on beforehand! Sizes seem to vary quite a bit from brand to brand!!

I saw a 'Boateng' for £130 yesterday. Its a cheaper range than the 'Bespoke Couture' that I bought from his London shop, but Im sure theyre still £400-odd normally... I still think that TKMaxx are best, if you pick a large store with a lot of formal wear and you know what youre looking for. I can guarantee that youll get a lot more enjoyment out of a good suit bought for <£200, than you will a similar suit bought for anything up to £1,000!

Are you sure that its a Cerruti 1881 suit and not a suit made out of Cerruti cloth?

The reason that I ask is that I used to love Cerruti: I have three suits still; and the only place from which you could buy them was the Cerruti shop in Chester.
