Anyone recommend a nice hotel in Northern France?
Looking to get away for a few days (got some holiday to take from work and that) and thought that despite the horrific Euro we might nip across the channel because then its like you've really gone away...
Don't want to go miles through France as we'll have the wee one with us so somewhere around Normandy etc would be fine.
Anyone been anywhere nice or got any other recommendations? Not looking to spend a fortune though!

HOTELS DEAUVILLE, HOTEL HONFLEUR : le clos deauville st gatien - NORMANDIE
Good food and friendly, cute staff and the local area is very nice, although it was November so I only saw it in the dark!
No idea on price, customer paid

Cheers chaps.
Looking at the ferry or the chunnel. Thing is feels more like you've gone away if you go on a ferry, plus its working out slightly cheaper too...

For Nord-Pas de Calais and surounding areas I use either tunnel or Norfolk Line, Norfolk line ferries are very nice and go into Dunkerque instead of Calais which makes a change from the usual crossings.
For Normandy I have used Transmanche Ferries who go into Le Havre which is about 1 hour drive from Caen (Calais is about 3+ hours from Caen!) although the ferry crossing is much longer.
if you book through quidco, you get 7% cashback on Norfolk line and 4% cashback on Channel Tunnel

Sweet. Used Norfolk Line in the past for the bike trips (been very cheap for us and been straight on the boat too.
Caen is a good call though, be good to have a central based to leave from.
Any more accomodation tips more than welcome.

Plymouth - Roscoff ferry is excellent but get a cabin as it's a bit of a trek and the sleeper seats are awful. Travel in a loop anywhere around there, it's all good. Can recommend the trip to Brest on the E50, then down the E60 and the direct, but scenic route back to Roscoff.
