You can now post up your opiion on how you feel about the good ole prime minister himself Considering he has just lost out on another seat and was even beaten by the BNP I doubt/hope he isn't the leader of labour when they go for the next general election.

the PM is just the front man ,he doesnt run the country on his own

10 out of 12 canditates lost their deposit.
Henley-on-Thames is as Tory as towns come. It's no great wonder that Labour came 5th, fully expected in all honesty.
Brown will lose the General Election mind you, unless the economy turns around and then he may just pull off a hung parliment.

I can't help but think that Labour are going to need that money.
I don't know if you are aware but the party is weeks away from being declared bankrupt.
Last time this happened they gave millions (of taxpayers money) to the Unions to 'modernise'
Oddly... some of this found it's way back to the party.
All those loans they took out are now due and there is nothing to pay them back with. They've started negotiating with the Unions again.

quote from telegraph: "Mr Marshall has been ill for some time. It is understood that the illness may be related to depression."
no surprises there then.

The news atm is just one disaaster after another for the governemnt and is oddly reminiscent of the situation with the Tories in 1997.
No doubt we can therefore look forward to Cameron's mob lining their pockets for 10 years and then going into meltdown in order to keep the cycle going.
As I said elsewhere this country has the political parties it deserves, bent and greedy like the majoirty of its population.

At least we have seen one politician who is prepared to resign his seat on principle, and the Scottish Labour leader has resigned without trying to hang on to her job, so maybe there is a ***** of hope after all.

Think about all the people you hear about in life, I mean just in day to day life, not your friends or on the news and see how many of them think it's OK to claim a bit extra when their huose gets burgled or claim for whiplash when they have a bump in the car or defraud the benefit system without so much as a second thought or withold payments from tradesmen/companies with a pack of lies about cheque is in the post etc. or buy/receive obviously stolen goods or download DVDs from Bit Torrent or whatever it is called or buy hooky CDs and DVDs from people in pubs etc. etc.
It's rife and hence I feel this country deserves the corrupt and lying greedmongers it calls a government. Think Cameron will be better? LOL! More of the same I am afraid.

So, according to them it was for 'rule breaking' which doesn't sound too bad.
But over at Sky at Wendy Alexander Scottish Labour Leader Resigns Over Donations Row |Sky News|Politics we have " ... The Scottish Labour leader Wendy Alexander has resigned over the illegal campaign donations row, ending her turbulent time in the job ... " etc etc
A little bias there me thinks ..... (at the Beeb that is )

I turned down the opportunity to meet Brown, as part of the TA100 commemorations, because I would have had to punch him on the nose.
That kind of thing is frowned upon in the miltary.

That is becuase Les, like most of the other decent people left in this country, you are in denial.

Of course I realise that many are only too pleased to take advantage of a situation and make a bit on the side to which thay are not entitled. I thought it was unfair to infer that virtually the whole country thinks that way. I suppose it is largely a matter of degree and where it gets really bad is when you see those who are prepared to con others out of their hard earned cash or belongings. I do know that there are only too many who are prepared to behave in such a way and regret it deeply. But I don't believe that most of the country is like that.
I do object very strongly to those of our so called leaders and the example that they are setting for the rest of the country though.
