Whats your favourite Greek Islands
I am looking to go to another greek island this summer with the mrs.
So far i have been to corfu, crete and rhodes.
I was thinking of going to kefalonia or skianthos. I really want to go to somewhere very pretty and not to many loud young english people.
Any ideas
Thanks

Fav Greek Island
This is my all time favourite, fly into Kos then get the ferry over to the island of Kalymnos.
Peace, tranquility, crystal waters, closest place ive been to paradise. Theres only one road on the island, which doesnt go all the way round, so virtually no traffic either
The ferry takes you into Missouri which is where i stayed, from there you can take a small fishing boat/taxi over to the smaller island of Telendos which is idylic, four or five little tavernas on the beach front and no roads

Kefalonia - if you want it really peaceful - stay in Assos (pretty little village -3 or 4 tavernas round a horshoe shaped cove with a ruined venetian castle looming over you, nice driving around there. We've stayed in Villa Maistrali a few times). For a bit more life, stay in Fiscardo which is a bit more lively /yachty port with restaurants. Don't stay in the South or west of Kef as it's all a bit club 18-30. Viathi on neighbouring Ithaca is nice too - smaller version of Fiscardo (ferry from Kefalonia required). Paxos south of Corfu is also nice and quiet - no real roads and only a couple of miles across so you get a boat instead to get to deserted beaches.

Went to Kos (Kos town) last year and it was excellent. Kos town is the less chavvy bit than Kardamina - still some nightlife however.
One weird thing was the amount of restaurants and bars was way too many for the amount of people and this was peak season. Quite a lot only had a handfull of people in every night we walked past (en route to the very centre which was always busy) The locals said it's been getting less busy every summer for some years now. Obviously newer holiday destinations meaning less people going to Greek islands.
