IIRC from the snoozepapers,the actor who played Les Battersby unleashed a foulmouthed drunken rant about his stars and the soap itself... so they gave him the heave-ho in return...

How was he written out though? I remember Cilla going via the cash she got from the old bloke that left her the necklace. I just recall seeing him and hearing him shouting as per, then not being on it anymore.

I only 'watch 'it when I amover the in-laws... the M_I_L is a soap fanatic but i do recall Status Quo visiting the pub,and as above i think he went off to be their roadie...
