Footballers are incredibly gay - compare them with Rugby players - last Wales match and Hook is having his dislocated finger pulled back out by the side of the pitch, and carries on playing without crying, screaming or flinging himself on the floor.

The rugby players call it the, well Laurence Dallalio calls it the Andrex premiership,..soft and expensive. Even the managers are at it.... watched womens football on TV recently far better sportsmanship and you don't get any of this cheating diving ****, it spoils the game so much.

The FA is more concerned with protecting its little cherubs than promoting a fair and respectable game.
Maybe with the power of the internet, there could be a "gay dive of the year" awards...

Well, these 2 have to be some of the worst examples ever and should definitely be awarded the most stupid dives ever!

YouTube - A message to soccer (Take 1; long, rough & uncut version)
I believe that this may show the difference a bit more clearly.
Never in my life have i wanted to show the opposition that they have hurt me nor dominated me. If someone has hit my with a good tackle punch etc, then it's get back up on your feet asap and show them you're not hurt and get some retribution by preferably by fair means, however if they were a bit naughty then nail them.
In football i could never understand why you would want to ponce about on the floor. I remember my dad showing me vids of jackie charlton, david mackey etc and thought do i want to be a victim or stand up. (by the way not a leeds supporter). As i grew up my frame wasn't designed for football so rugby was perfect, plus the bonus is you have a pint with the player you've been trying to knock 7 shades of cr*p out of and go home.

Nice video (rob878's) but a couple of thoughts:
1) The "dive school" bits of football are actually from an advert, not a real training session.
2) The problem with football is there is simply too much to be gained and too little to lost for taking a dive. If players got a ten match suspension for faking then it might happen less.
3) And if you want to see proper hard, go watch Australian Rules!

Thing is, if I was a premiership player, and therefore one of the top 1% at my sport, I would be embaressed to dive the way some of them do, particularly as you know the replays are going to show the other bloke didnt even touch you.
You'd think they would actually have some personal pride and rely on their skill as a sportsman rather than cheating.
Compare it with real footballers from the 70's and 80's - half of them spent the night on the lash and turned up for the game straight from some tarts house they had spent the night with, and still played well.
Now they have a small injury like a broken toe, and are off for a year while it heals
I still remember when I used to play a lot of rugby in school, breaking my nose in a tackle, off to the side of the pitch to mop up the blood and playing the rest of the game with no problem.
