Default Hoi-Sin sauce

Out of all the sauces that there are in the world, surely it must be the greatest.Sod dianne for steaks or whatever it is,and indeed all others ,that peri peri and the Jamaican one....(though Lea and Perrins pretty good :-) )

Is there anything that can really beat it,and eaten with what ?

It's only nice with crispy duck and pancakes though, it just doesn't go right with anything else. imo.

Quite like a teriyaki sauce, goes with any kind of meat too. I usually make my own, great on chicken beef or pork although I'm not much one for sweet sauces, tend to prefer hot and spicy, Encona hot pepper sauce has always been a firm favourite.

Not too sure if I want to eat something that's going to have that effect.

Don't see the point of eating something that just burns the hell out of my mouth and means I can't even taste the food, that's why I like Encona (habanero and scotch bonnet) plenty hot enough and tasty, without over powering the flavour of the food and burning your mouth out, it also calms down and goes away quite quickly, they've recently started doing some sweet ones and different strength ones too, saw an Extra hot one recently.

Tried hoi-sin sauce on cocktail sausages at a wedding a few weeks ago, very nice indeed. Encona pepper sauce as mentioned above is nice too, just the right level of heat for me. Tried Dave's insanity sauce - I am a chilli head and it is far too hot to enjoy imo.

Absolutely love hoi sin. Was in the Royal Thai in Aberdeen 20 years ago (**** a bed it was 20 years ago!) and was the first time I tried aromatic crispy shredded duck and pancakes. Loved it ever since.

For me, the most universal sauce is Encona Jamaican hot pepper sauce. Goes with almost anything edible. Yummy!

Aromat. Now there is a man with taste. Everyone I know goes that looks and smells horrible but until you have tasted it then you can't tell.
