Grey Mullet recipes
Ive lived around the south east coast and witnessed the sort of 'detritus' these critters survive on and dont really fancy it but a friend believes theyre good eating - Is he talking about the first run of the season caught miles off the cornish coast , or is he talking out of his rear end as usual

Take the mullet and clean the fish. Using the back of the blade of a large knife scrape the fish from tail to head.
Get the vacuum cleaner out to clean up all the scales that are now all over the kitchen.
Rub the fish with half a lemon and coarse salt. Wrap in foil and leave in the fridge for at least an hour, preferably overnight.
Bake the fish at around 200 deg C for one hour (assuming the fish is around 1kg).
When it is ready remove from the foil and place carefully in an outside bin as you leave the house to go out for a curry.
