Default Green grass ??!!

Anyone know anything about these garden companies " Greenthumb " etc that can get your quote "" garden grass looking greener and so much more healthier looking be the envy off your neighbours "" ??!!

one off the near neighbours works for one off thse companies and can honestly say the grass in his front garden is stunning if thats the word for nice grass ??!! it is such a deep green colour, not short as in bowling green grass infact whenver I have seen it the grass is not particularly short but again just this lovely green healthy looking colour.

dont think its going to be purely a feed and weed type treatment to get such results just wonder if anyone knows the process that is actually used by these companies ??

We use Green Thumb and are really pleased with the results - no weeds in the grass and it looked far nicer than the neighbours over summer. They did a really good job on my parents lawn too, which was never anything special due to the clay soil. I think they found that it was cheaper than using the stuff you can buy from B&Q etc, and was more effective.

In terms of what they do, they have a number of treatments, such as the basic weed / feed and moss killer. They also do aeration too, although we've not had that done yet as the grass was too wet the times they came to do it.

I reseeded some of my back lawn and used some lawn weedkiller stuff in the worst places plus some lawn food. I wasn't particularly careful about what I did but the bits that I did look really nice (they were bald patches left by the previous owners dog being a bit of a digger), much nicer than the rest of the lawn. With time and care, the whole lawn would look lovely and lush.

Now, don't laugh at this but it REALLY works!!

A mate of mine told me a few years ago that he remembered his Grandad always going into the shed when he wanted a pee ..... later his Grandad told him that he pee'd into his watering can.

Each weekend he would add water and pour it over his lawn - he had the greenest lawn in the street.

I wondered about this, I didn't pee into a can - but I pee'd over a corner of my lawn ...... that corner grew faster, more lush and green than anywhere else!!!

The neighbours were complaining so I had to stop.

But, true it is

I am sure that is right but they do have the right gear and correct feeds/treatments for different times of the year. And I reckon a specialist would cost more. They charge me £17 per treatment for a reasonable size lawn and the front and side patches. They come about every 2-3 months.

In the summer I had some dead patches and the boss came out and was genuinely impressive with his knowledge (crane fly lava have been a big problem this year in lawns). He sent his guy out the next week for a FOC lawn treatment. dl

We have it and I am impressed. Our lawn was disgusting, had loads of weeds and was dying in places. Paid extra for a leatherjacket treatment and it grew back, lush and green. Would recommend them!
