Default Twisties here I come

Monday, parents and I are going on holiday in the Lakes for 9 days.

We are staying at Outgate, nr. Hawkshead and between Windermere and Kendal. Both times we will be staying in Farm house B&B's.

Look out for US

WRB 03 WRX and a DBM classic (which I am sure you all know what she looks like )

Try not to terrorise the locals too much. Imprezas have a poor enough image already.

Outgate is about 2 miles from where I live!!

Be careful on the roads, now that the schools have gone back this is the time of year when all the old folks come on holiday so dont expect to do more than 29 mph during the day. Once they are tucked up in their caravans things will be a bit quieter but it's nowhere near as good as north west Scotland where I've just come back from on me motorbike ;-)

The A591 south out of Keswick just before the lake of Thrilmere, there is a small stretch of dual carridge way with a possibilty of going airbourne at one point if traveling at the permited speed limit

Head to Ambleside and look for signposts for Langdale and go a spin over Wrynose & Hardknott Passes - they'll put hairs on your chest!!

I broke the front bumper on my Impreza going over hardknott (specifically, it grounded at the bottom of one of the hilly bits ). Great road though...

Know that bit. Overtook a bus in the rain and forgot about that bump. I thought for a second we were going to re-enact Donald Campbells Bluebird crash.
Even the missus enjoyed it.

Hardknott pass is the dogs. We went on a sunny day and the views were superb. Shame about the folks coming the other way about one mile an hour

Enjoy!
