In the last series you had a couple of multi million pound turnover companies on there, I mean come on you dont need the dragons or the poor terms they typically offer unless you are a struggling startup.

A good deal of people who go on that show end up with nothing from the "dragons". Quite often there's some contractual detail blocking the way, or sometimes alternate investment from other backers are taken up without losing half the company, other times the "dragons" and the "investors" are simply "unable to work together" for whatever reason. But as said the exposure from the show is sometimes helpful in gaining further or alternative investment, and I can't blame the entrepreneurs for taking advantage of that.
One of the guys who punted the Standby Saver idea on the show has been doing some work at our office, and from what I've heard they have gone the alternative investor route since doing the show. Despite getting investment from all 5 dragons at a 50% stake. It would seem that the future for him is looking very rosy indeed.
