Need some SN clarification on a couple of things
Come on peeps im sure you lot will know the answers,
1. Points are LIVE on your licence for 3yrs then after that you can say to your insurance comapny that you have none ?
2. Most F/C car policies say at the bottom you can drive any other vehicle 3rd party only if the car doesn't belong to you or hired to you under a hire agreement blah blah blah............... Now, say you borrow your friends car which is taxed/MOT'd does the owner/ registerd keeper of the car you borrow need to be insured ?

ok I will have a go at answering them
1. Depends on your insurance company, they usually ask if any convictions in the last 5 years, so you have to declare them even though they have expired, plus they will know they have expired anyway
2. Again this depends on your insurance company, some (maybe all now) require that the owner has insurance on the vehicle also, if 3rd party only, what would happen if the vehicle got stolen? or set on fire?

Dont they stay on your licence for 5 years anyway? They only count towards the deadly 12 points for 3 years though. But as Sonic say most insurance companies ask if you have had a conviction in the last 5 years.

NO
But if you park it up and leave it on a public road it would need to be insured. It's all a bit odd.
