Default Leaving a job

I left my previous job after more than 2 years as it was really getting me down working with pillocks and i worked my 1 weeks notice as required.

I had already lined up a new job which looked great when i was shown around but now after 2 weeks it's getting worse and worse so i want to leave
I haven't been given a contract of employment but others who have recently started say it will come with the first wage slip.
We get paid monthly and this apparently is by cheque which we then have to bank ourselves

If i leave am i required to give any form of notice as not to lose out on the 2 weeks wages which i'm owed or can i just walk out and tell them to send the money on?

Not sure how it works if i don't have a contract?

Cheers

it's not a case of work harder as i'm working harder than the people who have been there from before i started.
The job i went for isn't the 1 i'm doing as these 2 weeks i've been doing all the crappy labouring jobs in the warehouse - not the fabrication/ fitting which i should be doing

And my first 2 days i ended up working late even though every1 else finished on time as i was sent to another depot - happened again today which is why i'm ready to walk out tommorow

they're treating me like a mug .............................

Employers must normally give employees a written statement of the main terms and conditions of employment withing two months of their starting work. It has to include other things, details of pay, hours, holidays, notice period and, disciplinary and grievance procedures. This can all be bundled into a contract if the employer wishes, but it has to be provided within two months if no contract is given. So the no contract thing is no biggy atm.

Find your boss and tell them what you've just told us. If you are put on what you thought you should be doing, then result. If they dont then you've not lost out. Just do a bloody awful job until you have got your next job lined up then walk. < 1 month = no notice period. 1 month or above = 1 week min. Thats all relative though, if your job can be filled easily then they probably wont even bother pursuing it. If you have something in writing saying when you started then there wont be a problem getting your pay. However if you are a "ghost" then that two weeks pay might take a little while coming through (ie. you will probably need to take them to court to get it as they probably deny that you were ever there, it all depends hat type of people they are).

Can you not stick it out for a bit longer? near enough every job I have started I have thought crap the 1st few months. but once you get settled in it tends to not be so bad. If it so bad wait till yer 1st pay cheque and **** off

Question

If you're unhappy with what you are being asked to do, and it's not what you THOUGHT you were going to be doing, I assume you HAVE talked it over wuith your line manager, or whoever hired you, before walking away?

It could be that the company is having a small problem due to someone else's absence, etc, or a big order, or a changed order etc etc.

OK, some places are just run by A-holes, but MOST aren't.

ASK!
