How do i copy Codecs from my Old PC?

i have a new PC, and can't watch all my movies that i have D/Loaded, I could watch them on my old pc, but can't find the codecs to install. I've been to every codec site.. ever!!

How can I copy them off my old 2000 Hard drive to my New XP Pro Hard drive. (i'm hoping this is a how and not a Can I

click on the properties of the movie, it will tell you the format it has been created under. If it wont automatically play then it will be a Divx format. look at www.divx.com You will need to copy the install prog for this if copying from another pc as it needs to be installed into the Windows\winnt folder

Believe me I've tried this. It's a DIVXMPG4 V3, i've installed everything off the divx site and everything else I can find.

3.11, 3.2 4.11. 4.12 etc....


Still no joy though

maybe it's something to do with XP?

nothing to do with XP, what msg is it coming up with?

What player are you using, try another one, a dvd player should work. The above site should mention players aswell & what they can play

Have you tried using Divx's own player to veiw movie

Cheers Mr.Cookie, it works with the DIVx Playa, but does anyone know how I can get it to play through Media player.??

Hey come to think about it, it could be the OS. I have a few that needs a divx player to run on w2k, dont play on media player but DO on Win98. Hmmmmm...
