Suddenly I like the builders nextdoor again.
After putting up with their noise, mess and stupid hours of work, I caught the owner today.
He is an ok guy really so its nice to have a chat from time to time.
On seeing him today, and catching up on the progress of the development, I dared ask a question...
With the new car coming I am keen to get the drive resurfaced to there is no stone damage etc, and its easier to work on the car, wash it etc.
So, I popped the question, and was pleased with the reply.
"Cos we have been such a pain, and you have put up with a lot of inconvinience I tell ya what. You pay for materials and I will send the boys over and do it for you for free. Its the least we can do."
So after showing him what I want doing, they are coming over next weekend to do it. Digging all the old rubbish out, and redoing the whole lot
Materials will all be ordered in bulk and on his trade account.

What a really nice gesture Nice to see some people have consideration for others, even if there was a point where you thought he didnt care Was probably just pleased you never bothered him about it and let them get on with the work.
Lucky git. My drive needs doing but I live next door to an old man who's deaf. Thats not really of any benefit

DIDS ??
Yeah Dave it sure is. In fairness they have saved us a skip by taking care of any rubbish we had about too. Its been a bit testing at times, but worth it in the end with this gesture.
I have been honest with the guy and when they have overstepped the mark, its been discussed.
He owns the house on the other side of us too, so in reality its in his best interested for sale prices. Hence he has replaced all our fences too lol.
But then saying that, with the total price of the flats he is converting the house into coming up for 2.1million, im sure its not gonna make him bust. lol

Nope not Pikeys, and from the other house their work standards are very good
If he makes on the materials good luck to him
I reckon I would be lookin at a LOT more to get it done. Its concrete already, all which needs taking up, and he has said he will be doing that
It is in pretty crap condition really yeah, for putting a new car on paid for with my money anyway.
Indeed Dave, he has been a good bloke all along. Might ask them to give the garden a dig over too, could do with starting again.
Im the meantime, I must remember to ask him to order me some new fencing to build my little compound for the car too.
