Default Summer holidays - Florida?

looking for advice on where to go... wanted to do something other than Cyprus etc etc and have always wanted to go to the states...

Not bothered by Disney etc - done EuroDisney and that was enough for me... thought about Daytona or Tampa areas... or has anyone got any suggestions?

Leaving end of July for a couple of weeks... any advice gratefully received

Check for US college holidays... as Florida is mobbed by american college kids... which is either GREAT if you're 16 or REALLY bad if you're 18+ local holidays also bring Disneyworld to a standstill....

Can also be quite humid around August time americans think ginger is sexy as well...

See I told you

"There is nothing like this in the US where having red hair is not a precursor to having someone abuse you. Red hair is considered glamorous."

If you like the parks do them, euro disney is completely different. We did a week in Orlando with the disney / universal parks inc the water parks etc and then a week in Clearwater for a beachy retreat, very nice

When you out there and who with anyway ?

Getting a car or anything?

Meeting up with people while we are out there, friends from the UK, a friend who is a cop out there. An extra meet up could be fun

Parks can be a bit naff, even off season due to weather etc lots of stuff can get temp closed due to incoming weather etc.
They are good once if you like that sort of thing. Done all the big rides last year. Just heading out to chill, have fun and shop this time
