Unhappy Police ..... Rant

Today i done the rounds of some of the yards & as i was driving into one of them i noticed that there was a gang so of 20 or more youths standing outside the perimeter.
This yard probably holds around 100 vehicles there at one time & it was very near locking up time.
So i called the local police to see if they could disperse them, 30 mins the police appear well it was more like the kindergarten cops that came but hey ho. I told them the situation & obviously my concerns about this, so they kinda shruggred & off them went to the gang of lads.

10 minutes the gang is away .... the police come back in & say "Well to be honest they werent doing anything wrong, they just had a couple of wee motorbikes for there kids (on a public footpath) & there car's were parked off the road (blocking a public footpath)."

Off they went.

Its left me thinking that i had done something wrong, when all i was doing was trying to stop anything happening & damage to my property.

Strange world this to be honest.

Remember - police have no right to actually TALK to anyone unless they're smashing something up in case speaking to them in some way infringes on their human rights and civil liberties..

Well.. if you agree with many on this board anyhow...

After a discussion with one of the managers of that site tonight, i was informed that where the crowd was standing a council or police CCTV camera points directly onto that spot.
So they obviously knew what was going on.
I am not impressed at all.

If they are not doing anything wrong, then there is not a lot we can do.

Other threads would agree - we can't take their names to check if they are wanted, known (even though they are all TWOCers)

CCTV - depends where it is pointing. But there is too much of it videoing innocent people.

Can't be too Orwellian now can we.

Absolutely right of course, even though you would like to be able to question them as you have said before! Now that would be Orwellian.

As someone on 9 points.

Crossing a white line at 5am on a deserted rural road.
36 in a 30
Jumping a red light (traffic filter in Manchester)

Dont expect any support for the police from me.

Anyone see Traffic Cops last night?

For those that did, did you notice how the 18 year old car thief that had been nicked numerous times before and was well known to the authorities was described by one copper as "a lovable rogue really"?

Wonder if the owner of the red Metro thought the same? Somehow I doubt it.

There really is no hope I'm afraid.

In certain areas the police have the power to disperse groups of teenagers.

I guess not in your area though.

I saw the "lovable rouge" comment, the lovable rouge should have had a swift lovable smack round the head.

And whose fault is it that you did those 3 things?

The police's?

No yours, you're just bitter you got caught, you committed an offence and caught, accept the punishment.

My job used to bring me in contact with young people. Once, one of them was bragging about appearing in court because of over 40 TWOC-ing offences.

I asked him why he thought it was so clever, and he responded that his "brief" and his social worker BOTH said that TWOC-ing was "a victimless offence"

I pointed out to him that someone we BOTH knew had had HIS car nicked while visiting his wife in Leeds St James' when she was dying of cancer. He was unable to get home that night and unable to visit for the next five days.

The kid DID have the grace to look a LITTLE embarrassed at that.

Victimless offence? I bet neither of those numpty bitches ever had a car nicked.

The punishment does not fit the crime

That's because the Police these days are reactive rather than proactive.

I went to the Police to complain about a dog that had bitten 2 people (One being my sister) and asked them to speak to the Dog owner (address supplied). Was basically told to S*doff. Unless it had bitten me, they didn't want to know. They seemed unconcered when I asked if they'd prefer not to do anything untill it ripped some little childs face off. Unconcered.

I accepted the fines, and will accept PROPORTIONATE punishment. If i now get caught doing another 36 in a 30 then i lose my job, where i live, everything. Is that fair.
