I'm running Zonelabs Zonealarm firewall. Left PC connected to the internet today (via 56k modem)while dowloading music from Morpheus. On my return noticed I had several alerts. Nothing unusual there.
However, it seems I've received 13MB of data today and sent 510MB Bearing in mind I've only got 200MB in my shared Morpheus folder and there were only a few uploads off my pc this seems excessive. Should I be worried?

Yes.. but Zonealarm would not let other sources through, and if it alerted you. then it has stopped a connection, a lot of these alerts are harmless. Run an online security check like this one if you think you are at risk

THIS IS VERY THOROUGH AND MAY TAKE SOME TIME.. Free for one use only

Thanks Andy
I ran the scan and passed on everything. Checked my zonealarm and it had blocked 199 "attacks".
However,my PC was sending out bytes like the electricity meter of Blackpool illuminations. Just sent 1049 MB for the day. Closed down Morpheus and the counter stopped. Could there be a weakness in Morpheus security?

I'm sure your right, according to Zonealarm I've now sent out 2423MB. Till I resolve this issue (which must be a zone alarm fault) I'll try running my Norton firewall instead.

if you are using morpheus, you a sharing the files you download with other morpheus users - thats the whole point of it - peer to peer networking
If you don't want to share your stolen music, disable file sharing in the options menu. This is not in the spirit of things though!
Your high bandwidth outbound is just other users

Only on line for 4-5 hours but zonelabs was showing I was sending out data at an incredible rate. Can't be correct. Is anyone else using zonelabs and Morpheus?

yes, I am - once again, if you don't want lots of outbound traffic, disable file sharing.
If you have sharing on, the whole morpheus community can see what you have if they do a search - therefore, people will download from your machine.
Morpheus Rox!
