Yamipod is a nice alternative (doesn't do a lot different to be honest..) - however, I think it says you have to have run iTunes at least once to setup the iPod correctly before using Yamipod.

I'm happy with iTunes, I was using it long before I got my iPod anyway.

Just download latest version and put it on a CD or USB memory stick for her, it's about 45Mb IIRC,

Pretty sure that you could get a copy off some cover CD's on the PC magazines.

lol I had the exact opposite.

Floola has been bug free for me. The reason why I prefer it, is because it handles cover art better, and seems to have less bugs.

But you knew this before you bought an iPod yeah?

You did your research right?

You still went and spent the money on one yeah?

If YOU bought the wrong mp3 player for you, how is that anyone's fault but your OWN?

p.s. you CAN drag and drop within iTunes. you CAN see the iPod as a drive and drag and drop files (for storage/transfer etc. but not playback) if you want.

Lewis its all to do with copyright issues and to stop piracy from one ipod to another. Which you can get around by not using itunes
