Default CHILL OUT! you must be flippin joking

what a kick in the pants!

Someone has decided to run up a bill of 1200EURO (810GBP) on my credit card on 2 online gambling websites!

F^&*ing *******s!

Card now cancelled and my credit card company said I was not liable. But what exactly does that mean?

You won't have to pay the money back.

I had a similar thing happen to me a couple years ago. Somehow someone got my Credit card details and used it to buy sex line time.

Credit card company (Barclaycard) wrote off the debt. As long as you inform the Police (for all the good that does) then they write your debt off.
They will want a crime number to prove you've reported it, but if your local nick is like my old one, they'll just put it down as an inquiry. I apparently inquired about being a victim of credit card fraud. Keep crime figures down I suppose

Had my credit card used to buy goods via Next Directory the other week. Two lots of ourchases of over £500 in the space of an evening. The card people phoned me in the morning to ask if it was me as they had rejected one, and thought both were fraudalent. I still had card on me.

They cancelled the card and have written to me asking me to confirm I still had the card, and the purchases were fraudalent. Charges being taken off my account.

OK I spoke to the fraud department of the credit card company and they have started an investigation. I wont have to pay the 1200euro bill.
