Default Job Application Help

On a job application form there is a question 'Why do you think you are the right person for the job?'

I am guessing that prospective employers get sick of reading 'I am hard working, loyal and enthusiastic' or 'I work well as part of a team and excel using my own initiative'

Any advice as to what to put to make the application stand out (it's an admin role in a major shipping company).

Relevant skills and qualifications have already been listed on the form so don't want to repeat them and there isn't much space to write the answer.

Any help appreciated

Ask yourself, what you think they would need from someone to do that particular job well?

If there's a section in the advert on what they're looking for then list them, bullet style, and match your skills against them - makes it really easy for them evaluating cv's / letters

Answer "Process of elimination; I don't know anyone else who's applied."

Tell them what you can bring not only to the job, but the department and the company itself, so yes it might be I'm hardworking etc but most people don't expand on that. Back what you are saying up by giving examples - interviewers love it ( it's what we used to look for when I had to interview caniddates)

Just suggest they read your book - "The Interview Couch - Erotic Ideas for Securing that Job"

Good luck.
