Just got woken up by drillers!!

Just got woken up by drillers!!
Two guys decding to dig up the path outside my house with a pneumatic drill at this time of night 
I aint impressed so i rang the police and they said it could be the water board or gas board repairing a leak!! I said yeah but they have just woken me up and are in an unmarked transit van dont they have laws for this kind of thing!! So he said well its better then you been blown up!!
I wouldnt of minded if they had knocked on the door to tell me they where about to break the sound barrier and i would of made them a coffee but oh no they just put flood lights on full beam and start drilling

We always get people complaining when I’m out on standby of a night (trust me I don’t want to be there either). So if we get enough complaints we just go home and leave their electricity off. Then they have to take their chances and wait their turn trying to get someone back to repair the fault the next day.

They have been at it right through the night and are still there now. I was on a rant because i had been woken up but im ok now although ive had very little sleep. Its the first time ive ever known them to do it late at night, they usually come during the day. I might go see if they want a coffee
