Default not declared SORN...!!!

fooking money grabbing dvla have just slapped me with a 40 quid fine for not declaring my bike off the road...

yeah alright i forgot, but ive bloody sorned the thing for the past 3 years, youd think theyd get the message as no excise licence has been applied for this time round either...!!!

anyone know a way round it...preferably without paying the flinking fine...?!

You could try sending them a letter claiming you did submit another SORN, as you've done for the last 3 years.

Insist that you sent it. Send them a photocopy of the form from the VRO/GPO that you sent to them in good time.

hmmm, was tempted to do that but i dont like to bulls*it...and besides some bloody weasel would probably shop me as ive kind of let the cat out of the bag here...!!!

Is the bike registered to: brihoppy Bedfordshire then? Write the letter; send the photocopy; never back down and youll be fine.

It is a skank though, if you've declared SORN once you should be able to leave it until you put it back on the road.

Kick up a stink an insist you sent it. I hate the usless incompetent dvla wnakers with a vengance. I recently got a letter thanking me for notifying them that I was no longer the registered keeper of the vehicle I sold.
3 weeks later they are sending me an £80 fine through the door for not taxing it

If the doctor told me I only had a week left to live I think I would pay a visit to the dvla, accompanied by a shotgun and several rounds of ammo
