The Tom Tom is very accurate, especially when you're driving in a straight line!

GPS is considerably more acurate than speedo. Speedo must read from 0 to 10% over and may not under read at all. Most car manufaturers drop in at around 5% to be safe.

Hedgehog provided a detailed description on the different GPS mechanisms and why it is acurate - do a search if you want the tech details.

Oh right, thanks for the replies. I changed a few settings on my Tom Tom 510 the other day and noticed when driving home that my TomTom was showing 7mph difference that the speedo
Cheers

GPS speed is pretty accurate as long as it has a decent look at it to work it out.

As long as TT was showing 7mph under, that's OK.
