Need a favour
Guys,
I'm trying to raise sponsorship for the NSPCC.
This June I will be leading a team of 6 in the Microsoft UK Challenge against over 120 other teams. Over the 4 days of the challenge I will run equivalent to 2 marathons, mountain bike about the same, canoe, problem solve, construct and be deprived of sleep.
Last year we finished 18th and I lost 1/2 stone in 4 days despite eating 6000 calories/day. This year with an experienced team I reckon we might just make a top 10 spot.
You guys know the good work the NSPCC does, I and over 800 other people will be running our backsides off for them. If you can spare a tenner then please visit:
https://www.sponsorshipform.org.uk/sponform.asp And sponsor team #66 (LogicaCMG Financial Services)
Many thanks in advance
Mods - any chance of making this sticky until the 12th June please?

Doing 2x 8 mile runs a week now as well as the regular training routine.
We have a competitive team training weekend coming up, about 30 of the teams that will be taking part in the event itself. The weekend will be a 5 stage race with night nav, construction, biking as well as a whole bundle of running.

Thank you everybody who has sponsored us so far!
Got back from last weekend's "Competitive Training" - I feel like I've been beaten up
29 Teams took part, we came 3rd.
All stages had some element of puzzle solving about them, for example stage 3 was based on scrabble with us collecting letters at each checkpoint and trying to get the highest score possible at the finish line with the letters we had ("workings" on 2 triple word scores ).
Stage 1 - 8km night nav run and construction
Stage 2 - 14km bike (Would have been quicker to run)
Stage 3 - 12km run
Stage 4 - 4km run
Stage 5 - Night time construction
Stage 6 - Kayaked 8km (The other part of the team ran 26km!)
It doesn't sound like much but when you look at the map:
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap...140700&A=Y&Z=4 and consider we were based at Kilve Court (60m above sea level) at the north of the map and had to run up those hills several times (300+ m above sea level)

Only 2 weeks to go
The messages are vetted/moderated and take a day to get posted up.
The training is going really well, here's the rest of the team:
Pete - 3rd in the national amateur night orienteering competition.
Rob - Numerous half and full marathons, completed the Bristol 1/2 in 1hr 27mins!
Neil - Ex-triathlete with a couple of marathons behind him.
Martin - Completed the London marathon twice.
Gary - Ironman, completed Lake Geneva ironman in a shade over 11 hours.
