Lovely cottage and very reasonably priced. Would definitely use them again.

I like the sites which put you in touch with the owners of the properties ..... easier and simpler to negotiate a deal.
Never forget that the sell-by date on a cottage is absolute - they can never, ever get any money from days that have past ...... the wise owners crack a deal to get some income in.
You have got to be very good at not blinking first, however .....

If you're up for a journey to Scotland then have a look at this. We stayed here at Christmas http://www.beautifulskye.co.uk/ and it was fantastic, very nicely decorated with none of the usual chintz, well equipped and extremely warm. The owners are very dog friendly so the garden is secure. The sea is a 5 minute walk away and can be seen from all windows. The sunsets over the Isle of Eigg are fabby. We liked it so much we're going back again this Christmas

For something really different try http://www.landmarktrust.org.uk/
They are a bit more pricey, but the buildings are something else. They basically renovate weird and wonderful buildings then make them available as holiday homes. You can stay in castles, forts, Martello Towers, gatehouses etc. They are a bit more pricey, but worth the extra if you're after something different.
You can join for £10 and they'll send you a really nice brochure with all the properties in.

Another shameless plug.

Pink Cottage is my holiday home. It may be too big for you, but they do other smaller cottages.
Cadgwith itself is a magic place.

If it's remoteness, stunning views and plenty of good hillwalking you like, then
http://www.scottish-holiday-cottages...-old-lodge.htm
is highly recommended.
It's about 1/2 mile down a private road, off of the main road, which is single track with passing places. At busy times, the main road can see up to 10 cars per hour. There's no other building within sight, and you can let kids/dogs do what they like, make as much noise etc. No-one can hear/see you!!
Watch out for the midgies early morning and late evening from June - September though
