Who killed Billie-jo...?
An immense amount of time an money spent an no nearer the truth. One thing intrigues me is the plastic bag thing - when did Silence of the Lambs come out.?
Is Sion Jenkins one calculating sob or are the plod just incompotent - theyll apparently never now be able to catch up with the other suspect...!

I doubt we will ever know, i have gone from believing it was him to doubting it and back and forth. I am not sure either way and there does not appear to be the evidence to convict him.
I cannot remember the full details but there was rumour of another man, mentally ill escaped from a nearby hospital at that time - this is from memory and not gospel.
What a tragedy and no closure!

seriously though i think the police and prosecution ballsed it up from the get go. colin stagg was another screw up.
if they'd kept the investigation straight forward they might have got a result (whether it was the right one is another matter. just my thoughts.)

Plastic bag up her nose ????
Wasnt part of the defence, that the blood splatter pattern on Sion's clothing was from her exhaling thru her nose? Opposed to when he allegedly hit her with the metal peg.

The Police said the mentally impared bloke was not near the scene. IIRC
Anyway, I believe that he is actually innocent. I believe either the (foster) mother or the daughter were responsible. They fled to Tazmania shortly after the separation, and then she proceeded to slag him off and claim he beat her and beat the kids. Maybe Jenkins knew that, and was prepared to sacrifice his social standing so one of his kids gets away with it.....

In the original trial, the defence expert who put this theory forward admitted under cross-examination that it was far-fetched. And since it was in the original trial I still don't understand how it was allowed to become the basis of an appeal. Can I also point out that the phenomenon has only ever been seen in specially staged trials, and never in real life. I might also point out that the blood spatters in question were on Jenkins' shoes - correct if he was leaning over to strike Billie-Jo.
Then we get to the strange saga of the trip to the DIY store at about the time of the murder: Jenkins grabbed his own two children and took them on a chaotic trip to a DIY store to buy some white spirit, even though there was some at the house. They didn't actually buy any, but came straight home. Establishing an alibi anyone?
Jenkins made no attempt to see if Billie-Jo was alive when he found the body - there was no blood on his upper body. Now if you found a person you lived with collapsed in a pool of blood, wouldn't you touch them to see if they were alive? Even if you didn't like them? Now of course, if you already knew they were dead...
