it needs TWO cables from the dish, therefore also requiring a 'twin' or Quad lnB ( bit on end of dish) also needs the card're-paired) to the box as it will not recognise the box and to do that you need to contact sky who will charge you for the privelidges

Hello

If you have a premium package (£30+ per month), Sky will just activate Sky+ for you.

As above though, you did need another input. So you can either fit a Quad-LNB yourself or pay someone (preferably an independent rather than a muppet from Sky) to come and fit it for you and run the cable.

One of these: http://www.zen35103.zen.co.uk/cablebitz/lnb.htm

If only some one from Sky would look at this thread, doooooh!

You need an LNB fingy with two outputs, two wires to your skybox and a Sky+ upgrade / account.

Hello

I moved in to a new house that had a pre-fitted cable in the roof to attach a dish to and then distribute the signal round the house.

The first Sky engineer said he couldn't do it and was only authorised to mount the dish at head height and drill a hole through the wall. I sent him away and complained to Sky. The second Sky Engineer came and said that he is not allowed to do that, and, yes he could drill a hole in the wall and mount it if I wanted.

I went to the local satellite shop, paid £90, they came, fitted in properly, upsold me a couple of magic eyes, made sure everything worked. Great service.

I'm sure you are not a muppet, but it would appear that most are.

If your an existing customer you can get a new Sky+ box, quad LNB and all the installation carried out for £49.95.

Or you could just before Christmas.

I got a free upgrade to Sky+160 for recommending a friend to have Sky.

Cheers
Lee
