Have I staved it?
nearly two weeks ago now, I was toy fighting with the other half and I punched his knee a little harder than I intended to (I wasn't even aiming for his knee ); anyway, it sounded like a hallow popping noise and it REALLY hurt.
It is still really sore up the little finger side of my hand especially when I move it certain ways, there is a lump on the side of it and whenever I go out into the cold it makes it ten times worse. It's been nearly two weeks and I am getting a little worried!

I think I will get it checked out though, Im not man enough to leave it two weeks - although if it is broken or staved i don't know there is much the can do for it, is there?
You know, I can't actually define staved although I know what it means Gee, Im bright!

4. To accidently bend back (a finger or toe) and injure the joint at its base.
Example: staved my finger playing netball
Except it was'nt netballs you were trying to hit

My cousin had a big lump appear on his hand after punching someone when we got jumped on a night out.
After a day or two of pain a trip to a&e for an x-ray revealed he had chipped a section of his knuckle off.
Nothing they could do for it, his hand was splinted and he was given pain killers. He was left with a slightly lumpy knuckle after that, but had no other ill effects beyond the pain for a week or so.

Sounds like a fracture or break in the bone - I had one like that on my big toe when someone broke it with a 2x4 - in casualty they said they cant do anything to set small bones, you just need to strap it up so it doesnt move too much and it'll start healing itself.
