51 in a 30 zone
My mate has been caught by a camera at this speed. Any idea, other than a proper spanking, what he can expect? He's pleaded guilty on the letter, so hes not trying to get out of it - just what to expect.
I thought it would be a 3 points and £60 fine. He thinks 4 points and court appearance?
It was on a dual carriageway 30 zone in the morning of a weekend. Dont know if that makes a difference?
Cheers,
Marky.

Did he get a NIP letter? Then its 3 points and £60. Guessing he got that as hes been given the option to plead guilty by post.
If he got a summons to court, its anybodies guess nowadays!

Chances are he won't get NIP'd due to the speed. May find a court appearance looming. Either way, probably 4-6 points and £100-£150 fine. IMHO.
"He" should think himself extremely lucky if he gets offered 3 points and £60

3 points and a £60 fine.
Usually, the guideline is; 25 or more above the speed limit, and you`re in Court. 30 more, and you`re disqualified.
Seeing as it`s 21 above, it will probably be dealt with as an ordinary fixed penalty, as on top line.

fixed 3points and 60 quid, no more than usual. Its not too fast so I wouldnt worry. maybe over 60 would be a court appearance, maybe, but this would just get reeled off the printer and stuck in an envelope like all the others, not quick enough to be checked out.

I am currently involved in a 42 in a 30....if (and it is IF) you get a conditional offer/fixed penalty it will be 3 points.
If that goes to court-looking at 5 point minimum (magistrates guidelines)

It may well be up to the particular police force in that area. None of us really know the answer Marky, he will just have to wait for what the police decide to do.
Hope you are well

Once the NIP has been returned, a decision is made whether to offer a fixed penalty (or driving course) or to refer to CPS.
