Tom Tom and mobile phones - idiots guide
I am a mobile phone dunce
I have some free Nokia on a £20 a month o2 50 tariff, which is soon to come to the end of its contract.
I really like the idea of this Sat nav stuff on my phone when in the car, but wouldn't know which phones can support this when browsing 02, carphone warehouse etc for the best deals etc.
Can anyone give me an idiots guide on which phones are suitable for this - it seems i may have to go to a £30 a month deal to get them free, but lets see.
Any basic hints, or deals that you know of would be handy
Yes I have read the other thread
cheers

ive just set all mine up on a nokia 6630 its workin really well with tom tom 5, its cost me about £85 altogether. all you need to do is get your new phone that will take a mmc card and then up date the card with tom tom software or by a 256mb card off ebay with it on for about £30. well worth it im impressed. scott

What a difference a day makes!
I'm still leaning towards the 3230, because I can get it free with bluetooth headset for £19 a month on O2 50 here which suits my phone usage - and since I'm not a phone tech junkie 3G isn't that important to me to warrant a £30/month tariff for the 6680. Also I want FM radio too .
So unless there is any OS speed issues or anything else that I need to know about the 3230 then I'll go 3230. I assume the screen colours (64k) is good enough for Tom tom?
Then I need either a 256k card or the 512k card and a GPS bluetooth receiver
And then aquire Tom Tom software.
Is that all I need?
Is 256k enough?
Anyone recommend a good suction mount flexi phone holder?
cheers

Done the deed
3230 arrives tomorrow, stayed with Carphone warehouse - to stop me going direct to O2 they put me up to O2 100 for £25/ month but with £150 cashback - as long as I remember to cash in the vouchers every quarter
Do I need a USB cable?
