I think the chances could be reasonably high that they do this. Then again, they may just release them on VHS first, then DVD for next Christmas, and then HD-DVD for the next Christmas.

Not that they ever try and milk you for all your are worth

I'm waiting for just the 1-3 boxset. I've bought too many star wars box sets already and don't need another duplicate of eps 4-6!!!!!

There were plans to bring out a special collectors 'plot' edition but it has fallen through as George said it wouldnt work. He wouldnt be able to release a 'mastered' edition....

Well Lucas narked me a tiny wee bit when he bought out episodes 4,5 & 6 and said it was the last time they were being released in this format, and then promptly bought out the special editions with the extra footage a couple of months later, money grabbing git.

Since I'm not too keen on the new 3 films I shall not be buying the DVDs in a hurry.

yup, theres yet another Ep.4-6 box set out at the beginning of december. Maybe theyre just making limited amounts of his dvds so when stocks run out they have to make more & just revamp the cover...

There is only 1 StarWars out there and that is Lego StarWars

I quite enjoyed 1-3

Mate at work had never seen Star Wars and has watched them all for the first time in order 1-6. He was quite impressed with the continuing plot

the only films to have the classic home desktop video editing transitions

Has there been a transition reel in the extras? edit the films really tightly just to show one transition after the other...im sure the starwars fanatics would love that

Its that George Lucas doesn't understand character development or dialogue!!

ROTS gets credit for at least being spectacular (lets face it, we all like Jedis and Sith fights), and there is no question that the special effects are breathtaking, but it falls flat on its face in pretty much every other respect. Anakin's transition from the light side to the dark was frankly pathetic, despite the best efforts of Ian McDirmid (one of the few actors who looked like he was enjoying their role and believed in it).

A real shame.

i dont think anyone got my subtle joke

i didnt think the sfx was anything at all. All this cgi & real character combination didnt work. it does in other films but not in these SW films, its poorly done (getting away from the fact we all know its not real life) you can tell theyre in front of a blue screen. The action 'feels' so detached, there is no warmth or passion.

Yep I own 4-6 VHS never to be repaeated limited edition. Then the c11nt released 4-6 remastered VHS edition that I had to buy then to top it off I bought 4-6 on DVD.

1-3 are utter rubbish if you grew up with the originals. NO I will not buy any of them EVER.

I just can't see how u can class them as utter rubbish. Ok perhaps not oscar classics - but good enjoyable films.
