hello, my mates own a1 stretch limos and i was the 1st driver. Once upon a time it was me and 1 other driver (who is now transport manager) now they have got 40 odd limos and are doing nicely hiring them out and importing from the states. That has taken about 8 years and a lot of investment. Like any business you need to check out your competitors and research the market, i don't know where you are based but here in watford there are quite a few limo companies (well 4 that i know of) all doing pretty much the same thing at roughly the same price.
You haven't said anything about what scale you were thinking of but one bloke round here has 1 limo and he mainly has to work all weekend and is quite slack in the week. He has an ad in the yellow pages which is where he gets new work, the rest is repeat and word of mouth.
it is difficult to know what you really want to know from the question. like anything it can be great if things go smoothly but ****e if someone is sick in the limo and when you break down... like i did when taking a load of ex-footballers to a vinnie jones premier a few years back, the limo broke down and john fashanu and dennis wise were arguing about who should push the car!!!!!!!
i also think its a good idea to be mates (ish!) with other companies in your area because you can scratch their backs and vise versa - i know that happens round here..

Well, you don't get if you don't ask! Tell Neil or Eddy that Pat Sullivan recommended them and they might knock a couple of quid off for you. Failing that speakto Steve at Absolute Style limos and play them off against each other!!

Sadly, I was driven in an A1 Stretch Limo recently (corporate event to the England:Poland game). The driver was a whinging incompetent who turned up an hour and a half late, the vehicle wasn't in especially good condition, and there were pirated adult DVDs in the vehicle. I'll not go on about the neons, da bangin choonz or the fact that overall it looked like something from the 1970's.
Oh, and the driver kept extolling the virtues of the vehicle/company with the mantra "Yeah mate, it's all good, it's all good".
Classy.
It confirmed every view I ever had about stretch limos; needless to say, I'll never set foot in another.

I'd say the big £££ comes from customer service - good quality customer service leads to repeat business and referrals, combine that with value for money and you have 2 features that will immediately set you apart from the competition.
